Father's Day
Another Father's Day has come and gone and each year I am reminded of some great men who have meant a lot to me.
This is me and my daddy. I was his girl. I had him wrapped around my finger and he had my heart. I was about 4 in this picture. My daddy loved his family fiercely and worked hard to provide
for us. He's been gone since 2005 and I still miss him a lot. I treasure the memories
we shared in our earlier days before my mom passed away.
This is my father in law, aka Papa or Grandpa. In this photo he is with his first grandchild, Elizabeth, in Ireland. I love this man. I don't know if he realizes it or not, but, he and his oldest son are credited with leading me to Christ. I saw someone who loved Christ first and then his family. He and Jane would include me in family activities long before Mike and I were ever married. He sets a great example for his grandchildren and happens to be one of the biggest kids I know!
This is my beloved. I fell head over heals with him as a young 18 year school girl. My heart fluttered the first time he ever said, "I love you." He is silly, goofy, talented, smart, loving, and I cannot imagine my life without him. We can finish each other's sentences and sometimes thoughts. We have been through so many trials and triumphs together. Some of those before we were ever married. He is a hard worker, loves his family, loves Christ, and is extremely loyal and faithful. Although he is far from perfect, he is perfect for me and the best father to our children. God orchestrates life
in amazing ways.
The last man I committed to has become first in my life, or at least I strive to put Him first. Jesus Christ graciously led me to him with His arms open and loves me despite of me. He held me tight when my earthly parents left this earth. He held me tighter when I kissed my precious Emma goodbye. He has held me through every joy, sorrow, triumph, and failure. He truly is the greatest Father of all.
